1. Delon Wright shines in Game 5

After averaging a modest 10.5 points through the first four games of this series, Delon Wright had a breakout performance in Game 5, scoring 18 points on 6-of-10 shooting in 26 minutes of action.

Wright played phenomenally when the game tightened up, scoring 11 points in the final quarter of play, including nine in the last two minutes.

We know what Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan can do on a given night, but what has made Toronto special this season has been the play of the supporting cast, and Wright showed that in Game 5.

With backup point guard Fred VanVleet sidelined with a shoulder injury, the Raptors needed someone to take on the ball-handling duties for the second unit, and Wright stepped in like he’d been doing it for over a decade.

Moving forward, the Raptors could still use Wright’s services even when VanVleet returns, either next to him in dual point guard lineups or spelling him to give the opponent a different look on the offensive end.

Either way, Wright’s performance came at a crucial time for the Raptors, as it helped them secure a win they desperately needed to have.
