4. The Chandler Parsons experiment

Since signing a four-year, $94 million deal in the 2016 offseason, the Chandler Parsons experiment hasn’t exactly panned out. Parsons has played a total of 70 games with 42 starts in two seasons with the Memphis Grizzlies. He’s averaging 7.1 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists in roughly 19.5 minutes of action since battling knee injuries since his arrival to Memphis.

Parsons was a mixed bag this season for the Grizzlies. His best performance of the season came in just 18 minutes of play against the Houston Rockets of all teams. He scored 24 points on 9-of-11 shooting from the floor and 6-of-8 shooting from the arc, but that was back on Oct. 28 in a 103-89 victory.

After the All-Star Break, he managed to play in just nine games in March before being shelved for the rest of the year. In his last appearance of the season, he put up 15 points, three rebounds and two assists and a steal in a 108-103 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on March 28.

It was another season of roadblocks for Parsons, but on the bright side, he produced when he was given the minutes. He’ll need to get healthy this offseason for a team in desperate need of a scorer on offense.
