5. The Portis/Mirotic Brawl

Sadly, some pundits were saying the Bulls’ season was a failure before it even began. It’s rare that you hear of two players on the same team openly feuding, but for that feud to escalate to a physical altercation with significant injuries and suspensions doled out, it’s a black eye for not just the players involved, but the organization as a whole.

Back in October, whispers of intense trash talk in practice quickly turned into reports of an all-out brawl, where Bobby Portis connected on one clean punch to Nikola Mirotic’s face.

According to a report from ESPN, Mirotic was laid out and didn’t get up for several minutes, ultimately suffering from a fractured upper jaw bone and a concussion.

Both players missed significant chunks of time and while Mirotic may have been on his way out the door anyway, this certainly didn’t help his trade stock.
