The Philadelphia 76ers won their first playoff series since 2012, getting past the Miami Heat, 4-1, to advance to the Eastern Conference semifinals.

The Philadelphia 76ers closed out the Miami Heat at home on Tuesday night, 104-93, to advance to the next round of the 2018 NBA Playoffs. The Sixers used a strong third quarter to create some distance between themselves and their hostile visitors and in the process, showed why they’re such a dangerous team.

Philadelphia was led by veteran shooting guard J.J. Redick, who put up 27 points on 5-of-10 shooting from 3-point range. It was Redick’s third 20-point game of the postseason and second in a row as his sharpshooting couldn’t be stopped in Game 5.

It was an ugly shooting night from the 3-point line for both teams, but even it was a rougher night for the Miami Heat from the floor. They shot 34-for-88 (38.6 percent) from the field as a team, by far their worst shooting night of the series.

The Heat have gone fishing as the Philadelphia 76ers advance to the next round. Here’s a look at three takeaways from the Sixers’ Game 5 victory.
