3. Use the draft shrewdly

The Nets have the 29th, 40th and 45th overall picks in the 2018 NBA Draft. Considering how well this front office uses draft picks (see: LeVert, Caris and Allen, Jarrett), they will not take these picks lightly.

If the Nets see someone they really like in the mid-late first round, they have the capital (for once) to poach that player. However, it is also likely that some prospects of higher value fall to No. 29 as well. The Nets have a plethora of options with these selections, and they can be economic about the process.

The second round figures to have some quality players as well, especially in the form of shooters. Considering the 3-heavy system coach Kenny Atkinson runs, such shooters could look like steals for Brooklyn.

Players with the potential to be legitimate rotational shooters, such as Moritz Wagner, Hamidou Diallo, Wenyen Gabriel, and Gary Trent Jr. fit this bill quite well, and figure to be available at the Nets’ picks.

As the NBA’s demand for more 3-and-D players continues to rise, the draft appears to supply them as well. The myriad of hyper-efficient complementary players will appeal to Brooklyn, a team in desperate need of strengthening its bench.
