10. Any time Vince Carter dunked

Vince Carter is one of the most prolific dunkers in NBA history. His highlight slams have dazzled countless fans, and his performance at the 2000 Dunk Contest is legendary. Carter’s status as a superstar for the Toronto Raptors in the early 2000s is a contributing factor to Canada’s sudden influx of talented basketball prospects.

However, at 41 years old, Carter doesn’t get air like he used to. He’s far removed from his peak of 87 throwdowns in 2005-06. In 2017-18, he only dunked 10 times. Nothing too fancy, as he doesn’t have the athleticism he did during his 2000s heyday.

However, you could sense the excitement from fans and announcers alike each time he got airborne. Carter wasn’t putting the ball between his legs or leaving his arm in the rim, but every dunk he performed automatically triggered those good memories in basketball fans’ minds.

VC is still a useful basketball player, serving as a gregarious mentor to younger athletes. In fact, he intends to play at least one more season in the NBA. However, there were at least 10 instances in 2017-18 when it felt like Vince Carter was his former, high-flying self.
