With 2018 NBA free agency and the 2018 NBA Draft still on the docket, let’s jump ahead and make some early predictions for the Los Angeles Lakers’ starting five next season.

We’re now two weeks into the offseason for the Los Angeles Lakers. It’s been nothing but rumors and speculation about the team’s plans during free agency and the 2018 NBA Draft up to this point. Instead of doing the same old dance, I want to take it a step further.

Let’s not worry about what may or may not happen during the draft. Let’s not try to pretend like we have any idea who’s on the Lakers’ radar during 2018 NBA free agency. What I want to do today is focus on how those two events could shape the franchise’s starting five when the 2018-19 season finally tips off.

So that’s why we’re here — to make an early prediction of what the Lakers’ starting five will look like come October.

In order to do so, I obviously had to make some assumptions about what could happen in the next few months. But don’t fret because I’m not going to speculate on a few players the Lakers may or may not convince to sign on the dotted line. What I’m going to do is predict the future, or at least make an educated guess.

So without further ado, let’s take a look at some early predictions for the Lakers’ 2018-19 starting lineup. A lot can happen between now and the end of free agency, but I have a feeling this will be the eventual outcome of the upcoming offseason.
