The New Orleans Pelicans completed the shocking sweep of the Portland Trail Blazers in round one with a 131-123 victory in Game 4.
Despite being only the sixth-best team in the Western Conference, the New Orleans Pelicans finished off their sweep of the 3-seeded Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday with a 131-123 victory to advance to the second round for the first time since 2008.
New Orleans’ two stars played phenomenally in Game 4, as Anthony Davis finished with a playoff career-high 47 points to go along with 11 rebounds and three blocks.
Meanwhile, Jrue Holiday continued his stellar postseason play with 41 points and eight assists.
In the process, they became the first duo to score 40 apiece in a playoff game since the 2016 NBA Finals, where LeBron James and Kyrie Irving each had 41 in Game 5 against the Golden State Warriors.
The Pelicans win their 2nd playoff series in team history. Anthony Davis & Jrue Holiday are the 6th pair of teammates in NBA history to each score 40+ points in the same postseason game.

Damian Lillard finished off his subpar series with another disappointing performance, finishing with just 19 points on 7-of-16 shooting from the field.
Barring a shocking upset at the hands of the San Antonio Spurs, it looks like the Pelicans will be heading to Golden State for Games 1 and 2 of their conference semifinals matchup to face the Warriors.
If New Orleans wants any shot at upsetting Golden State, they’ll need to implement these three takeaways moving forward.
