5. The new 3-Point Contest champion

Devin Booker had promised he would bring home the 3-Point Contest trophy. Consider him a man of his word.

Booker fell just short in 2016, joining the Splash Brothers Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson in the final round before the latter took home the title. In a 2018 rematch against Klay (and Tobias Harris), Booker would not be denied, making 20 of his 25 3-pointers in the championship round.

Thompson finished second with 25 points, while Booker’s 28 were enough to win the 3-point belt and set a new record for a single round in the 3-Point Contest.

In the process, Booker became the only Suns player other than Quentin Richardson (2005) to bring home the award.

Yes, it was just the 3-Point Contest. And yes, it’s depressing that this was as close to winning anything important as Phoenix came all year. However, for a player who keeps promising to revive the franchise and restore Suns basketball to its former glory, it’s a good sign that at age 21, Booker has already delivered on one of his early promises.
