9. Book vs. Brow

Anytime your team’s best player goes off for 40 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists, you’ve got to like your chances of winning the game. Unfortunately for the Suns, that wasn’t the case on Feb. 26 when they took a trip to visit the New Orleans Pelicans.

Booker was sensational. Though it did nothing to help his reputation as a “good numbers in bad losses” guy for the box score vultures, he kept Phoenix in the game against a very good Pelicans side, shooting 14-for-28 from the floor and 9-for-11 from the foul line.

Unfortunately, Anthony Davis was just a teensy bit better.

Finishing his night with a season-high 53 points, 18 rebounds, five blocks and three assists, the Brow absolutely torched the Suns. He shot 16-for-29 from the floor, got to the line 26 times (making 21) and literally fouled out Phoenix’s entire frontcourt, retiring Alex Len, Dragan Bender and Marquese Chriss.

It was embarrassing to watch for the bigs, but even in a nine-point loss, Suns fans couldn’t complain too much about a perfect loss in a tanking season.

Suns lose? Check. Devin Booker went off? Check. The game was competitive? Check. It was entertaining? Thanks to Book vs. Brow, double-check.
