8. Spencer Dinwiddie breaks out

Well-documented as a journeyman, Dinwiddie’s role with the Brooklyn Nets was virtually forced due to other injuries. That did not stop him from putting together a plethora of great performances throughout the season (a few more to come).

His first significant outing came against the Minnesota Timberwolves, where he dished out nine assists and zero turnovers along with 26 of his own points (on 14 shots). Passing precision was his calling card all season, and Jan. 3 was a microcosm of his overall brilliance.

Pulling off these heroics, especially against a team as loaded as the Minnesota Timberwolves, was no small feat. Dinwiddie was often labeled as a pass-first point guard, but on this night, he not only did that, but then he did some more brilliant things, and then some more.

Dinwiddie would have a legitimate case for Most Improved Player if Victor Oladipo didn’t exist, and this night was the catalyst for his ascension. NBA pundits began to notice him from this night forward.

An entire slideshow of Dinwiddie’s greatness can (and will) be written, but for the purpose of variety, I will only include his absolute best in this slideshow.
