Brooklyn Nets: Top 10 moments from 2017-18 NBA season
By Alec Liebsch
1. Spencer Dinwiddie wins the Skills Challenge
Arguing that this should be ranked lower is a futile task. Dinwiddie’s rise from a journeyman to a passable starter is incredible, and his appearance on the national stage at All-Star Weekend bolsters this truth.
The fact that he was invited at all is a testament to how far he had come from when he took the Nets’ starting 1-spot. I’ve praised Dinwiddie countless times, all of which were well-deserved. But winning that challenge on a national stage was more meaningful than anything else a Net did this season.
Brooklyn played zero national games (besides the local broadcasts shown on NBA TV). Dinwiddie’s presence at All-Star Saturday Night was impressive enough, and to make the most of such an opportunity is the most Nets thing of the season.
Making lemonade out of lemons has been the theme of this team for a while now, and Dinwiddie’s clutch performance with the entire country watching falls right in line with that theme.

The 2017-18 season was indicative of this theme, and many players made the best of a dreary situation. Next season schedule is sure to be filled with many more great moments.
