The Washington Wizards are in a 0-2 hole in the 2018 NBA Playoffs after their 130-119 Game 2 loss to the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday night.

The Washington Wizards got off to a slow start in Game 2 against the Toronto Raptors and were unable to recover in the end. Washington made a few comeback attempts, but in the end, Toronto prevailed 130-119 to go up 2-0 in the first round of the 2018 NBA Playoffs.

The Wizards opened the game surrendering 44 points in the first quarter. Toronto came out hot from behind the 3-point line in the opening frame, draining 7-of-13 shots (53.8 percent) from behind the arc.

DeMar DeRozan finished with 37 points on 14-of-23 shooting before it was all said and done. Luckily for the Wizards, they return home with a chance to get in the win column. It wasn’t all bad in Game 2. The bench played well, especially Mike Scott and recent signee Ty Lawson. The duo combined for 34 points off the bench on a night where Bradley Beal struggled.

Beal finished with just nine points while their floor general, John Wall, was his usual self. Wall finished the game with a team-high 29 points along with nine assists in the loss.

It wasn’t a must-win game, but the slow start definitely kept the momentum one way all night long on Tuesday. With the series shifting to Washington on Friday night, here’s a look at three takeaways from Game 2.
