Toronto Raptors: 3 takeaways from Game 2 vs. Wizards
By Chris Conner
1. DeMar DeRozan’s career night sets the tone
You have to be impressed with the player DeMar DeRozan has turned himself into. In the regular season, he showed improvements in his playmaking and 3-point shot, averaging career highs in both assists and made 3s.
Tuesday was another example of why this Raptors team is as dangerous as ever. DeRozan finished with 37 points on 14-of-23 shooting, five rebounds and four assists. His 37 points were a playoff career-high as DeRozan poured in bucket after bucket.
DeRozan appears to be a man possessed and on a mission. As his co-star Kyle Lowry continues to take more of a secondary role, the two are as close as ever.
DeMar DeRozan is the clear alpha dog in Toronto now. He appears to be in a good place in and out of basketball arenas and ready to take the Raptors where they have never been before.
