Is it a stretch to say that this season was the worst in the Orlando Magic‘s six-year rebuild? For many reasons, the answer has to be no. Really this is because there was one key ingredient added to this campaign that we had not seen before: modest expectations.

We know now that the Magic were essentially a train wreck from mid-November onwards, en route to a 25-57 record. That is the exact same number of games the team won in 2013-14, and less than the the two years in between. This shows an alarming lack of progress as the team goes round in circles.
