7. Justin Holiday’s 3-point barrage helps Bulls snap Miami Heat’s seven-game win streak

This was one of the few times the Bulls were riding the wave of a multi-game winning streak when facing an opponent this season. Unfortunately, the Bulls weren’t the only team coming into this contest on a hot streak.

The Miami Heat had posted wins in each of their last seven contests. Not only that, but the Heat had also notched wins in the previous two meetings between the two ball clubs and with the Bulls struggling to establish any kind of an identity, it appeared that trend would more than likely continue.

However, despite shooting just 37.1 percent and 40.4 percent in the prior two outings against the Heat, the Bulls converted 47.7 percent of their attempts on their way to a 119-111 win on Jan. 15. Another stat worth noting is the Bulls knocked down 16 of their 39 looks from 3-point range, marking the eighth straight game in which they hit at least 10 3-pointers – a franchise record.

Along with the team’s Big 3 combining for 41 points, Justin Holiday led all scorers with 25 points, posting a career high in 3-pointers made (seven). This outing was also the third occurrence in a seven-game span that Holiday recorded five or more 3-point field goals.
