8. Lauri Markkanen gets it done against Charlotte Hornets

If the Bulls were heading in the wrong direction in the previous highlight that was discussed, this was certainly the case coming into this outing against the Hornets. In several games prior to this matchup, the Bulls gave up late leads, which contributed to the team’s 10-game losing skid.

Fortunately, the Bulls kept their poise down the stretch in this one on Dec. 8. While four quarters wasn’t quite enough to determine the winner of this contest, the Bulls eventually emerged victorious with a 119-111 victory in overtime.

Four of the starters scored in double figures, but it was Markkanen who was the man of the hour in this contest. The rookie forward finished the evening with a team-high of 24 points and 12 rebounds on 8-for-15 from the field and 3-for-5 from beyond the arc.

"“Lauri showed again that he’s going to be a heck of a player in this league,” Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg told ESPN. “He was awesome down the stretch making big, clutch plays for us.”"

At that point of the season, the Bulls improved to 2-0 against the Hornets while they were 2-20 against the rest of the teams in the league.
