9. Bulls pound Magic 105-83 behind balanced attack

There were already a couple of factors working against the Bulls coming into this Nov. 3 matchup. First, they had dropped five of the first six games. Second, the Magic entered this game as the league’s best 3-point shooting team on offense (44.2 percent) and on defense (28.3 percent).

The two teams battled to a near stalemate during the first 24 minutes of action, with the Magic leading 45-44 at the break. In the second half, the Bulls managed to pull away thanks to an offense that reeled off 61 points while limiting the Magic to just 38.

When it was all said and done, the Bulls cruised to an easy 105-83 victory, their second-largest margin of victory on the season. Not only that, the Bulls placed seven players in double figures, including Justin Holiday (19 points), David Nwaba (16 points) and Lauri Markkanen (13 points). Robin Lopez also chipped in with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Even Paul Zipser – yeah remember him – scored 10 points to go along with four rebounds. A win against a team that finished two games below them in the standings doesn’t mean much. Considering the fact the Bulls didn’t have many easy wins throughout the season, an outing like this was one was a welcome surprise though.
