10. Kris Dunn leads Bulls past Dallas Mavericks

There weren’t many times during the season that the Bulls faced an opponent that was in a similar boat they were in.

For instance, the Bulls started 3-20 before a seven-game winning streak helped them get out of the bottom of the Eastern Conference. Meanwhile, the Mavericks started the season with a 2-14 mark and produced 11 wins over their next 23 outings, which included a four-game win streak that was snapped by the Golden State Warriors.

Fast forwarding to the final frame of their Jan. 5 matchup, the Bulls built a 10-point cushion with 1:08 left to play in regulation. A lead of that size is usually safe more times than not, but the Bulls didn’t make it any on themselves down the stretch.

Thanks to the Mavericks manufacturing 3-point possessions on four separate occasions while fouling the Bulls after each made basket, the Mavericks remained within striking distance until the final buzzer. It wasn’t until Mavericks’ guard Yogi Ferrell’s attempt at the final buzzer fell short could the Bulls breathe easy, despite scoring a whopping 47 points in that stanza.

Dunn had his best game of the season, scoring 32 points to go along with nine assists and four steals. He also shot an impressive 4-for-5 from 3-point range.
