The Oklahoma City Thunder were able to pick up a big Game 1 win against the Utah Jazz. Here are three takeaways from the postseason opener.

The Oklahoma City Thunder were able to win against the Utah Jazz in Game 1 of their first round matchup in the 2018 NBA Playoffs. For a team that was inconsistent all year long, picking up a win in their first game of the playoffs was a good sign for things to come in the future.

The Big 3 of Carmelo Anthony, Paul George and Russell Westbrook was able to play well and that has been something that was up and down all season too. George led the way with 36 points on 8-of-11 shooting from 3-point range, Westbrook followed up with 29 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists and Melo added 15.

Carmelo has not been able to put up very good numbers all season, but the past eight years he’s been in the playoffs, he’s managed to average 20-plus points each time.

The Big 3 has been able to play up to tough challenges all season with two wins against both the Houston Rockets and Golden State Warriors, and that trend was no different in the game on Sunday against the Jazz.

The Thunder should be able to build off this game and have a productive series. Here are three takeaways from Game 1.
