After failing to qualify for the playoffs for the first time since 2010, the Memphis Grizzlies have their work cut out for them this offseason.

The Grit and Grind era appears to be over in Tennessee, as the Memphis Grizzlies failed to reach the playoffs or even contend for them, for the first time in eight years.

The season was an interesting one for the Grizzlies, as they had no intention of tanking during training camp, but as the losses piled up, it became clear that Memphis would be playing for ping pong balls.

Coach David Fizdale was let go by the team not 20 games into the season, a weird decision considering his success the season prior in leading the Grizzlies into the playoffs and taking the San Antonio Spurs six games in the first round.

Point guard Mike Conley had a lost season, as the 30-year-old played in only 12 games before being shut down in January following heel surgery.

The Grizzlies appear to be at a crossroads, led by two veterans in Conley and Marc Gasol, who have no intentions of slogging through a rebuild despite what their 22-60 record suggests should be coming.

What direction Memphis chooses to go down will shape the next few years and possibly more, as the team has the chance to hit the reset button before things start to become mediocre. Here are the five things the Grizzlies should look to do this offseason if they want to better their future.
