After an electrifying Game 1 between the Boston Celtics and the Milwaukee Bucks, it’s time to look at three takeaways from their playoff opener.

If the rest of the series is going to be like Game 1, then we’re all in for a treat. There’s been some good Game 1s thus far, as well as some pretty point blank blowouts early in the 2018 NBA Playoffs. Sunday’s series opener between the Boston Celtics and the Milwaukee Bucks was nothing short of fantastic.

It had all the components of a great first game, including two late shots that sent the game into overtime. It was a back-and-forth contest the whole way out. Whenever it appeared either team was getting separation, the other would come right back within a matter of seconds.

When all was said and done, Boston wound up winning in overtime, 113-108. Despite being shorthanded with Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward being out, the Celtics continue to find ways to win.

One thing that didn’t make the cut in our three main takeaways but needs to be mentioned was Boston being careless with the ball. There was a moment in the second quarter where they continued to turn the ball over and that allowed Milwaukee to get out in front and run the break for easy points. They finished with 15 turnovers overall.

It’s hard to take in everything in a roller coaster game like this, but luckily for you, we’ve got three takeaways from Game 1, plus what do the Celtics need to do throughout the series if they want to beat the Bucks.
