The Orlando Magic had a very disappointing 2017-18 season that brings up more questions than answers for this organization.

The Orlando Magic came in to the 2017-18 NBA season with modest expectations and a belief that they had finally put a roster together that could be more competitive.

Talk of a playoff berth at the end of the season was optimistic, but with guys like Jonathon Simmons and Marreese Speights added to a young core, it wasn’t crazy talk either.

We know now that the season did not pan out that way. At all. As in the previous five seasons, in truth, it was all over before the the turn of the year.

That surprising 6-2 start that filled fans with hope evaporated far too quickly, with the mix of veterans and young players failing to stay the course.

Picking among the wreckage, however, it is possible to see some moments that were a positive for the organization, which will be needed as the team looks to rebuild once more this summer.

They’re modest, but they do help to paint the complete picture of how this season went for the Magic. Strap in for a bumpy ride though, as we examine the five key takeaways for this team from the 2017-18 season.
