Los Angeles Clippers: 5 takeaways from 2017-18 NBA season
5. Clippers find diamonds in the rough
As a team that was unfortunately hit hard by the injury bug this season, the Clippers were able to take a few fliers on some lesser-known talent. Surprisingly, they ended up finding pieces they might want to stick around long-term.
Despite only averaging 5.5 points, the Clippers saw enough in former G Leaguer C.J. Williams to ink him to a partially guaranteed three-year contract.

Montrezl Harrell, who came over in the trade that sent Chris Paul to the Houston Rockets, made strides as a third-year forward, averaging 11.0 points and 4.0 rebounds in only 16.7 minutes per game off the bench.
Tyrone Wallace, another G Leaguer on a two-way contract, averaged 9.7 points in 28.4 minutes per game.
What role these players will give moving forward remains to be seen, but the Clippers took a chance on them and reaped the benefits in an injury-stricken season.
With two picks in both the first and second rounds of the upcoming NBA Draft, the Clippers are going to be adding more young talent to their roster very soon.
With the way these G Leaguers have panned out, Clippers fans should feel confident in the front office’s ability to find the right player for the future on draft night.
