The Chicago Bulls finished near the bottom of the Eastern Conference in Year 1 of the team’s rebuild. Here are the main takeaways from their 2017-18 season.

The Chicago Bulls entered the 2017-18 NBA season with low expectations. In fact, on the heels of an offseason that saw them part ways with Jimmy Butler, Dwyane Wade and Rajon Rondo, many predicted they would have the worst record in the NBA.

As expected, the Bulls didn’t fare too well as they finished near the bottom of the Eastern Conference, thus missing the postseason for the second time in three seasons under Fred Hoiberg.

Although watching this team proved to be difficult for most of the season, there were instances in which the team gave its fans something to cheer about.

During the month of December, the Bulls actually managed to produce a seven-game winning streak. What was impressive about that unlikely stretch of basketball is the fact they did so after losing 10 straight, becoming the first NBA team to accomplish this feat.

On the other hand, there were nights when Bulls fans must have felt that the season couldn’t end fast enough. One example of this sentiment is the 49-point loss to the defending champion Golden State Warriors back in late November.

Now that the season is officially over, here’s a look at some of the notable takeaways from the Bulls’ 2017-18 campaign.
