2. Paul George, SF, Oklahoma City Thunder (Player Option)

Now let’s jump into the real stars of the show.

Paul George may seem destined for the Lakers this offseason, but you better believe he’ll at least briefly consider his other options. Especially with the Oklahoma City Thunder’s current downward trajectory, PG-13 will be more than happy to get his first taste of free agency.

Is it unreasonable to assume the 76ers will at least give him a call and gauge his interest? They’re a young team on the rise that likely needs one more piece to complete the puzzle. Is George willing to spurn the Lakers for an opportunity to play alongside young stars like Embiid, Ben Simmons and Markelle Fultz?

Honestly, it wouldn’t surprise me in the least. George wants to win, and is going to look for the best opportunity to do so. If the 76ers’ young core can impress this postseason, it may give PG-13 something extra to think about when free agency tips off in July.

Philadelphia doesn’t necessarily have a huge need at small forward with Robert Covington entrenched as the starter. Still, even with how much money the incumbent is making, would they really decline if George deemed the 76ers as one of his finalists? I don’t think so.
