If the Philadelphia 76ers had their way during 2018 NBA free agency, they’d be using their sizable amount of cap space to land one of these dream targets.

It’s been a long time coming for the Philadelphia 76ers, who allowed “The Process” to slowly build them up to where they are now. Still, as great as this roster looks heading into the playoffs, there may be one more step to take before we can start talking about NBA Finals appearances.

According to Spotrac, the 76ers have about $31.1 million in practical cap space in 2018-19. With some minor tinkering, they could easily create a few more million dollars in room, giving them the leeway needed to sign a max contract player. Even then, they could alternatively use that $31.1 million to sign a couple of outstanding starters.

Either way, the 76ers have the financial flexibility to make a splash or two this offseason. Seeing as they already have a tremendous roster filled with rising stars, adding an established veteran or two could be just what they need to cement their status as legitimate contenders in 2018-19. That is, if they don’t end up doing so in the next couple of months.

So, let’s say they could have a legitimate shot at anyone headed for the open market come July. Who would be their top “dream” targets?

Well, let’s take a look and see which pending free agents could help this 76ers squad take their game to the next level. They may not all be realistic options, but all five of the soon-to-be-named NBA playmakers have the talent to bring “The Process” to its long-awaited conclusion.
