The Chicago Bulls have had a somewhat successful season and Fred Hoiberg has been of one the reasons why that is the case.

For the second time in three years, the Chicago Bulls will conclude their season without a playoff appearance under Fred Hoiberg. Also, let’s be honest folks, the Bulls have been a very difficult team to watch this season.

With the exception of the unlikely seven-game winning streak in December that has accounted for a fourth of their win total, this team would have finished at or near the bottom of the Eastern Conference.

Despite the doom and gloom narrative, though, there are a few positives that can be taken away from this season. While the improvement of several players comes to mind (more on that later), the positive that I’m referring to is Hoiberg himself.

When the Bulls decided to go all in on a full-scale rebuild, this didn’t exactly put Hoiberg in a favorable position, to say the least. However, for what it may be worth, he exceeded expectations across the board and because of his effort, the Bulls weren’t the absolute train wreck everyone thought they would be coming into the season.

So without further ado, here are a few reasons why the head coach deserves a little love and should return for another year.
