Underperformer: Dorian Finney-Smith, Dallas Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks have had their fair share of struggles this season. With a 23-52 record, the Mavericks are clearly out of the playoff picture and now comes the evaluation part.
When it comes to their roster, a name that seems to have fallen out of good graces is Dorian Finney-Smith. Finney-Smith has been hit with the sophomore slump hard in his second season in the NBA. He’s appeared in just 15 games this year after playing in 81 contests in 2016-17 and averaging 20.3 minutes per game. This season, he’s averaging 16.9 minutes per game. His scoring average hasn’t changed much at 4.3 points per game, nor has his rebounding average at 2.8 per contest.

Dallas has been an interesting franchise this season after drafting Dennis Smith Jr. with the ninth overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. Head coach Rick Carlisle hasn’t found a solid core just yet, but with the Mavericks heading back to the NBA Draft Lottery, Finney-Smith could find himself on the short end of the stick.
