Shabazz Napier
Shabazz Napier is having a career year as the backup point guard and is the No. 1 guy to replace Lillard or McCollum when those guys have to miss any time.
He has seven total starts on the season and in those starts, he is averaging 18.4 points, 5.0 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game, shooting 45.1 percent from the field and 40.3 percent from the 3-point line. That stat line is good enough to start for most teams in the NBA. Unfortunately for Napier, he plays behind two elite guards.
Napier can do similar things to Lillard and has thrived in his role on the offensive end when called upon. He has excellent ball-handling, is a sharpshooter from the 3-point line, finishes at the basket and has elite passing vision and touch. He can score one-on-one, in pick-and-rolls or playing off the ball.
On the defensive side, Napier is very active, has quick hands for deflections and steals. He has no problem guarding elite players and is more of a presence on the defensive side than Lillard is for the Blazers.

When Lillard missed those games earlier in the season, it was Napier who took over the point guard position and helped the Blazers keep winning games. He has been an essential player for them this season and has played great in big moments when called upon. If Lillard misses a game for his child or if someone gets hurt on this Blazers team, Napier is capable of stepping up his game.
