What are Victor Oladipo’s chances of making an All-NBA Team?
Victor Oladipo has had an amazing season for the Indiana Pacers, but in a crowded field, it might not enough to get him a spot on an All-NBA team.
Have you ever been to Las Vegas?
(If you’re single and the answer is no, stop reading now and book a ticket for this weekend. I don’t care what it costs. Just do it and thank me later. If you’re married and the answer is no, I’m totally not pointing and laughing at you right now, I promise.)
Of all the world wonders that The Strip provides, perhaps nothing is quite as amazing as casino buffets. The better the casino, the more elaborate the buffet. We’re not talking Golden Corral here. Even Golden Panda China Grand Slam No. 1 (you know you have one in your town) pales in comparison.
The steak is like butter. The lobster is, well, it’s also like butter. The mashed potatoes are…you get the point.
This year’s race for the six guard positions on the three All-NBA teams features a slate of players that are like the buffets from the Wynn, the Bellagio and the Cosmopolitan combined. They have everything you could want and more. You look at one and say, “Oh my God, there’s no way I’m leaving here without having some of that,” only to turn your head to the left and see another that looks even more appealing. If the buffet is going to add five pounds before all is said and done, voting for the best half-dozen guards in the league will drive you to drink.
Among the group of contenders is Victor Oladipo of the Indiana Pacers. Given his numbers and impact on a team that is hanging tough in the Eastern Conference playoff race, he’d be a shoo-in in any other year.
This isn’t any other year.
