Point Guard

Out of 48 available minutes at the point, in-season acquisition Eric Bledsoe will take the lion’s share. A fringe All-Star for the past few seasons, Bledsoe was seen as a major get when the Bucks traded Greg Monroe and draft assets to the Phoenix Suns early in the season.

Bledsoe has been solid for the Bucks overall; lineups with the former Kentucky guard on the floor are +3.8 on the season, per Cleaning the Glass (which filters out garbage time), and by far the most-used lineup for the team features Bledsoe at the point.

Last season’s Rookie of the Year deserves time at the point as well, where he proved last season he is a steady hand who can space the floor and guard either backcourt position. Milwaukee’s best heavy-minute lineup on the season features Brogdon in the place of Bledsoe.

Brandon Jennings had a standout debut for the Bucks but has faltered since, and although he mostly matches up with backups he has been unable to generate efficient offense. There is no reason for him to supplant Brogdon for backup minutes at the 1. For the sake of this exercise, we are assuming Matthew Dellavedova is unavailable due to injury.
