Rationale:

  • Even though he has failed to score over nine points in six consecutive games, Los Angeles Lakers guard Lonzo Ball has remained a factor in FanDuel NBA leagues by setting up scoring opportunities for teammates, collecting rebounds and forcing turnovers. With averages of 7.1 assists and 1.7 steals per game, Ball ranks second in both categories among all rookies in the league and his 7.0 rebounds per game is the second-most on the Lakers’ roster this year.
  • For the first time in his career, point guard Elfrid Payton will face the Orlando Magic, the team where he spent the first 281 games of his career. Since joining the Phoenix Suns at the trade deadline, Payton has been a factor in rebounding, collecting 5.5 missed shots a night, enough to be the fourth-highest average of the Suns this year. Payton has struggled scoring in the past four games, registering less than five points three times, but a return to the Amway Center could provide him with an offensive boost.
