Although the Houston Rockets are obviously headed for the playoffs, it’s not too early to take a bold look at what 2018 NBA free agency and the rest of the offseason could have in store for the franchise.

At this moment, all is going as the Houston Rockets had hoped. They’re among the top teams in the West, and seem to have the talent needed to topple the Golden State Warriors from their cozy perch atop the Western Conference.

Seeing as there are still a couple of weeks before the postseason arrives, though, I’ve decided to take a look at what the offseason could hold for the Rockets. Despite owning one of the NBA’s most loaded rosters, there’s a growing rumble that a splash could be made by general manager Daryl Morey when the offseason officially gets under way.

Will he try to convince LeBron James to come to Houston? Could another big name fall into the team’s crosshairs? Or maybe they’ll try to make a move up during the 2018 NBA Draft, seeing as they only own a second round pick at this moment.

There’s so much that the future could hold for the Rockets. As it so happens, that’s why we’re here today — to look at a hypothetical scenario that could unfold in the coming months.
