4. Can Shai Gilgeous-Alexander keep carrying Kentucky?

What is there left to say about Shai Gilgeous-Alexander? Kevin Knox is playing well and Hamidou Diallo has woken up a bit, but this is Gilgeous-Alexander’s team. Kentucky seem poised to go as far as he can take them. After a strong showing in the SEC Tournament, he hasn’t taken his foot off the gas one bit.

In his last five games (three in the SEC Tournament and two in the NCAA Tournament), Kentucky’s point guard is averaging 21.8 points, 6.6 assists, 5.8 rebounds and 2.4 steals per game.

The Wildcats are 5-0, as the Canadian guard gets whatever he wants. He’s living at the free throw line with 36 attempts in his last four games. It’s hard to not view him as a lottery pick and it’s hard to not view Kentucky as a national title contender. Next up is Kansas State in the Sweet 16.
