With the offseason just under a month away, it seems right to take an early look at potential outcomes for the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2018 NBA Draft and 2018 NBA free agency.

It’s been a great season for the Los Angeles Lakers. Yes, they will likely miss out on the playoffs, but they’ve made more progress than most folks expected. Their young core has developed rapidly, they created cap space for two max contracts and they even acquired a first round pick.

So what can we expect from the Lakers during the 2018 offseason? You can bet your bottom dollar there will be plenty of rumors about potential moves from Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka. Dots will be connected between the team and some of the biggest free agents available. Speculation will run rampant about what Los Angeles will do with the aforementioned pick.

Instead of waiting to see what the future holds, though, I’m taking a bolder approach. I’m going to make a few brazen predictions about what we can expect from the Lakers this upcoming offseason.

Now admittedly, these aren’t all going to be completely out there. Some will seem more feasible than others. In the end, though, I believe they all throw caution and care to the wind to some extent.

Now that we’ve got that all cleared up, here are my five early, “bold” predictions for the Lakers’ 2018 offseason. They may not come true, but paint a rather exciting picture of what could be in store for this club in the near future.
