Rationale:

  • After claiming his first career scoring crown a year ago, part of the second ever triple-double average for an entire season, Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook is closing in on his first assist title. Westbrook is dishing out 10.2 assists per game, 1.2 more than any other player in the league, and is dishing out 11.6 assists per game over his last five contests. Even more amazingly, the lofty assist total has been part of five consecutive triple-double efforts, helping the Thunder win six straight games. With Westbrook playing his best basketball of the season, FanDuel NBA lineups should add him each night.
  • The shooting percentages for Phoenix Suns point guard Elfrid Payton have regressed closer to his career averages, but that hasn’t really impacted his value in FanDuel NBA lineups. In his 15 games since being dealt away by the Orlando Magic, Payton is posting 13.5 points, 6.7 assists, 5.9 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game, even though his minutes within the rotation are starting to diminish.
