Los Angeles Clippers or Lakers the better free agent destination?

2. Clippers have their own NBA legend

Another allure of signing with the Lakers is the ability to play under the greatest point guard of all-time, Magic Johnson.

Today’s NBA players may not have grown up watching him, but they still understand Magic’s greatness as a player and his standing among the greats of the game. Being able to pick his brain on a daily basis is an honor every basketball player would love to have.

Let’s not act like the Clippers don’t have a legend of their own, though.

The Logo, Jerry West, currently has a front office position within the Clippers organization, and while his career may be somewhat underappreciated by the younger generation, West no doubt has the respect of the NBA elites, including the likes of LeBron James, who dubbed him “The Godfather.”

West may not have the glow and charisma of Magic Johnson, but his brain is full of NBA knowledge that any player would be lucky to even scratch the surface of.
