5. Kyle Kuzma, Los Angeles Lakers

Last rank: 4th (↓1)

The Los Angeles Lakers have gotten more and then some out of Kyle Kuzma since trading away Larry Nance Jr.. Kuzma has become a rebounding machine since Nance’s departure and it’s come just when the Lakers needed a bigger interior presence.

Kuzma is averaging 15.4 points, 8.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.0 steals per game in March. He’s recorded three double-doubles this month after recording just two combined in January and February.

He put up 26 points, 13 rebounds and two assists against the Denver Nuggets last Tuesday night to pace the offensive attack. Julius Randle also had 26 points and 13 rebounds (seven offensive) in the 112-103 victory. Kuzma made five 3-pointers in the game, the fifth time he’s achieved the feat.

Kuzma has been solid since being inserted into the starting lineup. He’ll need to be a lot stronger though if he hopes to steal the Rookie of the Year Award.
