5. Dallas Mavericks

Oh, the irony is rich at No. 5.

After backing out of a supposed verbal agreement in the summer of 2015, Jordan has a chance to return to his home state of Texas.

Playing for the Dallas Mavericks would be somewhat of a dream for Jordan. Despite actually being from Houston, the Mavericks give Jordan the best spot to play in front of friends and family, a dream for almost every NBA player.

Without many bona fide scoring options, coach Rick Carlisle might be inclined to give Jordan a larger offensive role than what he’s normally accustomed to, something the nine-year veteran has desperately craved.

Pairing with Dennis Smith Jr. would give also Jordan a viable pick-and-roll partner, something the Clippers have lacked since Chris Paul was shipped to the Houston Rockets this past offseason.

Heading to Dallas wouldn’t put DeAndre Jordan in the best position to win a championship, but coming home is something every athlete thinks about, and it would give Jordan the opportunity to expand his game beyond the defensive end.

For Jordan, that might be all that matters.
