Los Angeles Clippers: Pros and cons of re-signing Avery Bradley
Con: Injury-prone
When it comes to investments of any kind, the investor wants to know that the product their putting their money into will last for as long as they want. The same goes for NBA players. When owners agree to pay players an eight-figure salary, they’re hoping that player can be on the court for as many games possible.
For Avery Bradley, that’s been a problem. He played in only 55 games last season and has appeared in only 46 this year.
Committing to Avery Bradley for four years is a risk. After all, how good can a player be if he isn’t healthy enough to play? It doesn’t matter how good a player is. The best ability is availability.
Investing big money into Bradley gives the assumption that he’ll stay healthy. Given his recent track record, that’s not very likely.
