Los Angeles Clippers: Pros and cons of re-signing Avery Bradley
With Avery Bradley set to hit free agency this offseason, it would be wise for the Clippers to weigh the pros/cons of giving him big money.
As one of the core pieces in the trade that sent Blake Griffin to the Detroit Pistons, Avery Bradley is one of the best perimeter defenders in the NBA and is on a contract set to expire after this season.
The question is, are the Los Angeles Clippers hoping to re-sign Bradley, thereby announcing that he’s part of their future rebuild?
Or maybe they simply acquired him as a rental, knowing that his $8 million dollar salary will come off the books, giving the Clippers more financial flexibility in the hopes they can acquire a top free agent this summer.
Nobody outside the Clippers organization has any clue, but no matter what owner Steve Balmer has planned, it’d be wise to do the due diligence of assessing the benefits and risks of bringing Bradley back into the fold.
Here are some of the pros and cons that the Clippers should consider this offseason when it comes to re-signing Avery Bradley.
