Who has been the Portland Trail Blazers’ X-factor this season?
By Ty Delbridge
Slashing and scoring at the rim
Even though he has developed into an excellent 3-and-D wing, Aminu has no problem getting to the rack and finishing strong. He also has added a few post moves to go to when he has a mismatch.
Aminu will be out on the perimeter, and then a second later he will be slashing by his defender and getting an open look at the basket.
The Blazers offense likes to have guys cut to the basket. Aminu uses his quickness to get by his defender and his length to catch passes and finish over bigger guys. Aminu has a field goal percentage of 66.7 when he cuts to the rim.
When he gets a defender on him, he has no issue backing down his guy and scoring in the paint or blowing by them for layup or dunk.
Where Aminu might be most lethal is when he is getting out in transition. When running, Aminu covers a ton of ground fast and can get behind the defense for a dunk or layup.
