3. Kevin Durant, SF, Golden State Warriors

The next superstar small forward in line: Kevin Durant.

Seriously, who wouldn’t want to sign this guy if he decided to spurn the Golden State Warriors this offseason? Even if he decided to hear a couple of pitches, I find it hard to believe the Bulls wouldn’t at least consider rolling out the red carpet for the Durantula.

Yes, I know it would be a very hard sell. Durant left the Oklahoma City Thunder to chase a ring with the Warriors. He clearly wants to rack up titles while he’s still in his prime. Taking his talents to Chicago wouldn’t exactly be an ideal opportunity to do that. The Bulls are still at least a couple of years away from contention, even with Durant in the mix.

Maybe team brass could pitch Durant with the opportunity to be the next Michael Jordan. The Bulls have a long history of success and championships. Durant can be the guy to bring this franchise back to its glory days — or at least that would be the sentiment suggested in this hypothetical meeting.

As with the two previous players mentioned, Durant takes the reins of the offense and serves as the new superstar at small forward. Teamed with an exciting prospect in Markannen and some other intriguing assets, the 2014 MVP can make another run at the exclusive award.
