5. Paul George, SF, Oklahoma City Thunder

Let’s get this started with an ambitious target, albeit not one that rings of a complete pipe dream. Sure, Paul George may seem destined for the Los Angeles Lakers right now, but I get the sense he’s the type of guy who would at least listen to a rebuilding team’s pitch.

George has been there before. For years, the Indiana Pacers were little more than a fringe playoff team despite his talents. So would landing with the Bulls, where he’d be the clear-cut star of the show, really be the worst idea? I don’t think so.

Plus, it’s not like the Bulls don’t need help at small forward. At this moment, their starter is David Nwaba, who even the Lakers weren’t interested in keeping around this offseason. Although that largely had to do with creating cap space, just the fact that he was the guy who they cut loose doesn’t paint a pretty picture.

George would come in and immediately provide some star power for a franchise nearly devoid of it. Sure, Lauri Markannen has shown some promise, LaVine is an exciting-yet-limited playmaker and Kris Dunn has shown well in his first year in the Windy City. With that being said, none of those three have proven to be ready to carry this club into a brighter future.

By signing George, the Bulls get a superstar who can help get this team back on the path toward relevance.
