2. Bradley Beal’s field goal percentage

As mentioned in the opening slide, Bradley Beal has really stepped up this season. He’s averaging career highs in minutes, field goal attempts, free throws, rebounds, assists and points per game. That’s a lot of pretty important categories, and yet the most important of all is that he hasn’t missed a single game this season.

One of the categories that isn’t at a career high this year is his 46.2 field goal percentage, but this statistic might actually be a little more impressive under further inspection, which leads us to statistic No. 2: Bradley Beal has the eighth-best field goal percentage in the league among guards who have taken at least 14 shots per game.

While some might find this too specific of a statistic to make any judgements, it shows an important trend in the development of Bradley Beal: He’s taking more shots than ever before and shooting one of the best percentages in the league still.

Another factor is just how much Beal shoots 3-point shots. Some of the guys who are above him in field goal percentage take more high-percentage shots. Among the seven guys above Bradley Beal, only Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Kyrie Irving attempt more 3-pointers. That’s pretty good company to be in and an incredibly promising sign for the Washington Wizards.
