3. Satoransky’s assist game

Tomas Satoransky is probably the biggest revelation during all of the injury madness. The half-small forward, half-point guard was given the keys to run the offense and he’s crushed it. Since the Wall injury, Satoransky has the third-highest true shooting percentage in the league among guards (behind Sindarius Thornwell and DeAndre Liggins).

Of players on that list who have played 14 games or more, he’s first just above James Harden. Satoransky has been a masterclass of efficiency. He hasn’t been scoring at a high rate, but he’s been near perfect at knowing when to drive to the hoop, take the shot or more importantly dish to an open teammate.

That brings us to our actual first statistic. Since the John Wall injury, Satoransky has the 15th-most assists in the league (82). While 15th doesn’t seem that impressive considering there are only 30 starting point guards in the league, you have to consider, Satoransky wasn’t even playing much point before the Wall injury, since Tim Frazier got the backup minutes behind Wall. For him to come in and do this well in the league with his passing is an amazing sign for Washington.
