Overachiever: Jeremy Lamb, Charlotte Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets have found a solid role for Jeremy Lamb off their bench this season. He’s excelling as a strong sixth man in Charlotte’s lineup in 2017-18.

Lamb is averaging 12.5 points, 3.7 assists and 2.8 rebounds per contest in the Hornets’ last six games. They are subsequently 5-1 during that stretch. Lamb is shooting 50 percent from the field and 45.5 percent from 3-point range in the same span.

His numbers don’t really jump off the page at you, but he’s efficient nonetheless. With an All-Star point guard like Kemba Walker, development is ultimately the goal for Lamb, who is finishing up his sixth season in the league.

Lamb has played based on his success on the defensive end. In victories this season, he’s generating a defensive rating of 97.7. In losses, his defensive rating is 113.0. Improving his defense could catapult him into the starting lineup soon enough. Let’s see how he finishes up the season.
