4. Avery Bradley, SG, Los Angeles Clippers

Let’s again explore the situation in which Smart is gone. The Celtics opt against matching whatever offer sheet he signs, allowing him to part for greener pastures. While it doesn’t leave a starting job open, it does leave a glaring hole in Boston’s bench unit.

Now here’s another issue — the guy I’m talking about in this slide is no bench player. However, when you have a loaded team, no financial constraints and a fantasy world to live in, I believe Avery Bradley would be more than happy to serve as the sixth man for the 2019 NBA champions.

So why is he a “dream target” for the Celtics? Well is there really any reason to say no to one of the best 3-and-D players in the NBA? Not only would Bradley provide a dynamic scoring threat off the bench, but he’d give an already-excellent defensive team even more talent on that end of the floor.

Bradley is a sensational defensive talent out on the wing. He can lock down some of the best guards in the league, and would add a whole new dimension to Boston’s bench. Instead of being forced to rely on players like Terry Rozier and Shane Larkin to get the job done, they can sleep easy knowing Bradley will shoulder the load.

Bradley is a starter on just about any team in the league. Imagine the type of impact he could have as the star of the Celtics’ second unit.
