4. The emergence of Tomas Satoransky

Tomas Satoransky is one player who has emerged on the Washington Wizards roster in the absence of John Wall. He’s the backup point guard and then some at 6’7″ with a shooter’s touch behind the arc.

Satoransky is averaging 11.4 points, 5.9 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.4 steals in the past nine contests for the Wizards, all starts. He started in just three games as a rookie in 2016-17. This season, he’s showing very few signs of a sophomore slump as he continues to develop with the added minutes.

He scored a career-high 25 points on 10-of-12 shooting from the floor and 5-of-6 shooting from 3-point range against the Chicago Bulls last Saturday night. He also had six assists, three rebounds and two steals before leaving early after a hard foul at the hands of Bobby Porter.

Satoransky is shooting 55.9 percent from the field and 60.9 percent from the 3-point arc since being inserted into the starting lineup this season. He’s been everything they’ve needed and then some with Wall out for an extended time. He’ll just need to sustain his play on a consistent basis going forward.
